Event Processing Technical Society (EPTS) PresentsInnovative Event Processing Application Contest
The Event Processing Technical Society in collaboration with the OMG Event Processing Community of Practice is sponsoring an Innovative Event Processing Application case study competition. The competition is open to organizations of all sizes, including government agencies, which have delivered, or are developing, an innovative event processing application. The goal of the contest is to highlight applications showing significant and innovative use of event processing. To qualify for the competition, the nominated application should have been developed in the past 5 years. Entries will be judged on the innovative use and potential or realized value from this application. The nomination form may be downloaded by clicking on this URL: http://www.ep-ts.com/component/option,com_docman/task,doc_download/gid,127/Itemid,84/ and when completed, may be emailed to EPTS_Application_Award at ep-ts dot com Competition winners will be announced at DEBS 2011 which runs in New York on July 11-14, 2011. Submissions will be accepted through March 1st 2011.
Competition GuidelinesCompetition ScheduleSubmissions must be received by the new extended deadline of March 31st 2011. The Winners will be announced at DEBS 2011 which runs in New York on July 11-14, 2011. Judging CriteriaThe nominated applications will be judged based on: innovation and realized or potential value. Evaluation committeeThe evaluation committee consists of academic people, representatives of the EPTS steering committee, and of the OMG Event processing CoP. The committee members are: Alex Alves (Oracle), Francois Bry (Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich), Mani Chandy (California Institute of Technology), Opher Etzion (IBM), Brenda Michelson (Elemental Links), Themis Palpanas (Trento University) AwardsUp to two awards will be granted. The award will be in a form of a plaque, and will be publicly acknowledged by the awarding organizations and in the media. Guidelines for Answering the Submission QuestionsThe nominating person may be either the contact person for the nominated project, or an external person such as customer, software vendor etc. The contact person is a person that can be approached for further question about the nomination, the PR person is a person with whom media publications will be coordinated, if applicable.
